INGREDIENTS
- (2) 9x13 baking pans
- Vegetable Spray
- 1½ pounds deli shaved Petit Jean Ham
- 12 slices cheddar cheese
- 24 Silver Dollar Rolls or 12 large buns (we used 24 Kings Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls)
Filling
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 8 tablespoons pineapple-apricot jam (we used preserves)
Topping
- 1 stick butter
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 teaspoons mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- Poppy Seeds
INSTRUCTIONS
- Begin with filling. Melt butter and stir flour into the mixture then add jam and blend well.
- Spray each 9x13 pan with vegetable spray.
- Cut rolls in half.
- On one side only, place ½ teaspoon of the filling. Spread.
- Lay half slice cheese and a nice amount of ham on each sandwich.(At this stage, it is possible to cover the sandwiches tightly and refrigerate.)
- Just before baking, prepare the topping.
- Melt butter and stir in brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
- Using a pastry brush, coat the top of each roll.
- Sprinkle poppy seeds across top of rolls.
- Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes.
